Note

I don't think I will ever forget this evening. We made it to the Sanders rally, and queued for an hour or so to get in. Bernie did a sweep along the whole length of the queue, and people were acting like he was a member of One Direction. He makes people very happy, and seemed genuinely happy to be out there.

Then we were sitting down on the green, waiting a long time for the rally to start, when a lady came over to over us four magical green wristbands - would be like to get on the stage behind Bernie? Well yes. After watching this terrible campaign unfold, and being unable to vote or even donate to the candidate of our choice (despite being a federal tax payer for six years now), here was something we could do - stand behind a candidate we truly believed in, and yell our hearts out. And so that's what we did.

I know he's probably (well, almost definitely) not going to win the nomination. But to be behind such integrity, such goodwill, and such belief in the power of humanity for good, was a real privilege.

In short, I guess I'm feeling the Bern tonight.

Edit: watching yourself on TV is kind of weird!

More wonderful Pond Mountain time. I was running much better this time, and it was a lot of fun. Think that mild illness last week was a bit worse than I thought it was.

Strength 2:00:00 [1]

Spent the whole afternoon helping our next door neighbor cover her entire garden in mulch to prevent her over excitable Labrador from destroying it entirely. Lots of digging, wheel barrowing and raking.

Tomorrow I have to get up super early to go to Pond Mountain and get back to New Haven earlier than planned - it's time to feel the Bern!

Note

Way to start the day well - wake up to your Air BnB host for your conference in Copenhagen telling you he's cancelled your reservation because his housing area have clamped down on Air BnBs. Had to spend a good hour or so trying to find a replacement place, as Jen and Pete are already booked to come visit me there. I think I have managed, hope so.

Too many split squats. Fine at the time, not fine the next day.

Cycling 1:10:00 [1]

Totally whacked today so settled for cycling the commute. The lab made it to 31 degrees today. I effectively am now on strike. I would prefer to be working.
