To Andrew Street. This was pretty much a nice walking tour of the loveliest parts of Salem once you got past the train station. The trees are finally starting to blossom after what feels like a generally chilly May, and running felt good again. Andrew Street has tons of historic houses and was a pleasure to visit.

Finally found a few minutes for some Freeletics. I'm getting better at leg raises - must be the yoga. I can straighten my legs now!

Finally got a new historic Salem St! Andover Street was a surprisingly beautiful quiet street tucked away right next to the big interchange by the station. Lots of plaques and lovely gardens, some tasteful modern renovations. Legs bizarrely tired today, not sure why.

Shuffle run to Ames Street. Ames Street is on the Bridge Street Neck, a quite industrial section of Salem on the way to the Beverly Bridge. Ames Street is the last street before the bridge, with some older houses that lead down to the water. Someone has renovated the last house and it looked gorgeous, but the street in general looked like it was hanging on to the world.

Felt fine running, hoping I have escaped the food poisoning/tummy bug. Lovely sunny day but still a bit chilly.

Note

Feel like I'm getting another bug...perhaps it's what Euan was grumpy with on Saturday. Everyone warned me about the daycare bugs but my, it really sucks!

Note

Feeling much better this evening after a ropey few hours earlier today. I hope this is it for a wee while. Rob has been in bed most of the day and his stomach has been bad, I hope I escape that.

To America Way! America Way was a new private estate where half the houses were car ports and there were no sidewalks. Not my kind of place. It's funny that I live in one of the most history rich parts of the country but I have yet to run down a street with some good historic houses (apart from the obvious downtown tourist traps).

The running felt a bit tiring after a morning of walking and carrying a rucksac, but it went by pretty fast.

A visit to Mack Park and some old haunts, including the now famous Salem stop sign: https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/livestream-of...

No one there today, I think this was probably last week's internet sensation.
