Note
Part of the reason I've been really meh recently is that we've been living in something of a limbo for a couple of months. But today, Rob has signed a contract for a new job in Oxford, UK. We're going to be moving back at the end of August.
I don't have a job. I've applied to one open at Oxford but it's obviously a long shot. I gave a seminar there a couple of weeks ago that went really well, so I at least put myself across well there. But you can never control who else applies to these positions and they are very competitive. If I end up taking some time off I don't think that will be the worst thing in the world. I am exhausted.
So exciting times!
Of course, most of you will know, there is someone that we can't really take with us. Is there anyone out there who would consider, or knows someone who might consider, becoming a new parent for a devil cat? Clem has left us, but we will be looking to find a new home for Rosie, who's 14 now and very sweet with the person that feeds her. Her favourite things are sleeping in the sun and sometimes hissing at Rob. There's a reasonable chance she would end up in quarantine in the UK and that would not be good for her. There's a couple of foster based shelters here that we will try if we can't find something through people we know.
