Car Trial at Colston's. Lovely day for it and some good hills but we struggled a bit. Richard Sharp and Bryan Walker had a battle for the win which Bryan and Mark won by a point, 2 to 3- impressive driving, we were on 64.

Aim was Derwenrt 3 Peaks but set off round to Cat Bells and not moving well at all. Maybe partly the damp nasty weather but whatever just not feeling up for it so turned and went back to Keswick.

Not particularly legs or lungs, just no go. Went for a coffee and a scone instead then a look into Threlkeld- seems a decent place and good location for running and travel to work- just need a house to come up.

Lap of Derwent including Grange to up the miles a bit. Nice run and felt fine. Lovely day.

Fell run 1:43:40 [3] 5.81 mi (17:51 / mi) +900m 12:03 / mi

Up and down Grisedale Pike.

Plan had been Coledale. Started of ok but pretty slippy once into snow and ice, few slips but up onto the summit ok. Down of the other side and picking my way along the traverse beneath Hobcarton Crag. This was going ok but the snow was pretty solid and not offering much grip. Stupidly edged my way onto one section I could tell was dodgy- traversing a steep bank of snow with little grip. Inevitable slip and suddenly sliding down the snow and picking up speed pretty rapidly. Came to a stop lower down in some scree. Very stupid and a bit shook up- decided to just return over Grisedale rather than carrying on round the h'shoe. Just cuts and bruises but this could have been a good bit worse- a timely reminder to be careful in the hills- especially when running alone in winter.

Planned to do Coledale but weather pretty horrible even at sea level- wind making bassenthwaite look like the sea! Drove to Keswick and decided to go round the lake instead, then weather got worse. Gave it 20 mins whilst doing some posting, still no better and lacking motivation so went home. Bit rubbish but just not up for it.

Latrigg uphill time trial

Not a great warm up and first running for few days so didn't go nuts off the start. Felt strong the whole way up but time not great- was hoping for a 14 something based on previous TT times of others. Snow on the ground from half way up and very cold- rasping the lungs when breathing hard.

15.45- a marker for this route so will try and improve and use this to gauge form. Be good to do the same time trial effort up Skiddaw and set a marker for this.
