Running race (South devon ultra ) 5:56:14 [4] 54.3 km (6:34 / km) +1966m 5:33 / km

4th place!! Way better than what I expected going into it. Got to the front in the starting blocks and straight away after the start one guy shot off at a speedy pace but no one else went with him and a pack of 5 of us places 2nd to 6th settled at a good pace, I went to the front and lead the pack in 2nd place for the first 20km then after the first check point people started to drop off but 3 of us stayed together in places 2nd to 4th each swapping and taking turns at the front after 30km one of the guys made a break and pushed on and opened a gap and disappeared around the windy course so I knew I was racing for 3d decided to gamble at 35km and make a break and managed to open a gap and loose sight of the guy behind me in 4th however I really struggled in the last 10km and was caught back up in the final mile, abit disappointing but was beat fair and square by some really experienced guys who paced there races well, not bad though for a first timer!!

well thats it, final run of of any significant distance (excluding a little warm up the day before) been 4 months of training all leading up to this Saturday, cant wait!
