Running 1:00:00 [3] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Swerve (Orange)

@ MC track

1 mile w/u, 1 mile w/d

2 miles on the track, strides on the straights, jogs on the curves.

I ran the two miles in 17:11, which would make it 8:35 pace which was the pace I raced at a few weeks ago for the 5K. Maybe I should run all my races 100 m on, 100 m off. Gah.

Orienteering 2:26:48 [3] 5.7 mi (25:45 / mi)
shoes: inov-8 X-Claw 275

I haven't been practicing at all during the month of Oct with travel and catapult building, so today would be it for any sort of practicing before the big meet in 2 weeks. I think I'm regretting signing up for my age, but I figure if I place last, then there is only one way to go in the future.

Nadim was kind enough to walk me through route choices before I started which was helpful, but difficult for me to execute in real life. I still don't feel like I know exactly where I am at every moment when I'm running around. I did get completely spun around a few times and had only a moment of that feeling, oh crap, how am I going to be able to get home?

I walked most of it, though I did run along the trails. The rain held off. I missed the last one, gah.
