This is the going to be the season of just showing up when I can and doing what I can for the day. We could spare only an hour out on the course today, so I dropped down to Orange hoping to get more running and less navigating and I cut it off after I hit an hour. Ha ha, it was both tough running (humid, hilly) and tough navigating (rusty). I can tell that I've taken the summer off of map reading and I can tell I haven't gotten in decent longish run at effort in a while. Vince came and I knew he was going to walk the whole yellow course, but he had just gone to his last control saw me running in though the parking lot and he decided to run to catch up with me (which he did) and then he picked up the pace the last 100m or so - so we sprinted to the finish with him checking in just before me. I wish he would really run, it's fun running with him.
