Running race (Trail) 28:24 [5] 4.7 km (6:03 / km) vdot: 30.5
ahr:181 max:193 shoes: New Balance 472
A nice route at Hennops. I started quite hard and felt good most of the way. Also felt reasonable up the hills. There wasn't a great turn out so it was a bit of a lonely run. Got a blister from my newish shoes.
Orienteering 20:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance 472
Did some more mini courses with the stakes on a field. To make it more interesting we had to memorize 3, 4 and 7,8. Then we did 4 controls of a star relay on the Hennops map. Was in a team with Nicholas

Friday Oct 3

Cycling 48:30 [3] 12.5 km (3:53 / km)
ahr:151 max:176
Rode with Alex around the top of Bill Stewart and over the hill onto Kloof road. We rode on the paths next to the roads as much as we could which were mostly nice and bumpy. I was rather wary on Alex's old bike because it has low handle bars and the brakes feel quite different. Seem to have the hang of my shoes not that we had to stop much. Enjoyed the route and the legs felt pretty decent

Thursday Oct 2

Cycling 22:00 [2]
ahr:139 max:169
At last I've sorted out my cycling shoes. I rode around my garden on Alex's old bike a bit to get the hang of them then went for a short ride on the road. Managed not to fall over.
Now all I have to do is sort out my pedals

Wednesday Oct 1

Running (Sasol wichwood) 21:37 [3] 3.26 km (6:38 / km) +40m 6:15 / km
ahr:162 max:181 shoes: Adidas Response
Ran the first half by myself then met up with Alex turning into Healy road. Passed Bishop Bavin gate in 15:10. Rather hot out

Tuesday Sep 30

Cycling (Bill stewart) 41:00 [3] 11 km (3:44 / km)
ahr:151 max:168
Ride with Alex. My legs felt dead

Sunday Sep 28

Orienteering race (Relay) 25:20 [5] 2.5 km (10:08 / km) +70m 8:53 / km
shoes: New Balance 477
Did course A. Was in a team with Pieter Mulder and Steve Spottiswoode. I ran first. My distance judgment wasn't great in places and I made a few minor mistakes but otherwise I had a good run. Good way to finish a fun weekend.

Went out afterwards to do half of course C with Alex shadowing me. Legs were a bit sore though so walked some of it. We should definitely try and do this more often.
