Orienteering race 24:35 [5] 3.1 km (7:56 / km)
slept:8.0 shoes: Asics Fuji Racers

Sprint series final at UJ. Great course planning by Brian. Fantastic prep for Jwoc!
Didn't have a great race. Didn't feel good warming up - niggly shin and no fire in the legs. Also had to work really hard to maintain concentration throughout. Had a 10 sec hesitation going into #1, lost 40 sec on #6 - misread the control description, 30 sec leaving #10 - map was a bit confusing with multi levels but the main problem was not planning ahead properly. Crawled into the finish pushing hard but moving slowly.
Steph won by miles. I ended up 5th.

Trying to get a bit of speed in the legs for Sunday. Also needed to get out of the house after a long day of studying.
8min warm up, 6* 30sec hard, 30 easy on grass, then 10min chilled.

Bit of a longer one this morning - From Lisa's, up the hill to Bishop Bavin, Royal Oak, Queen St. Calf felt good for the first half, but wasn't very happy towards the end. Stopped to stretch it a few times.

+ lots of stretching. Also went for a walk with my dad to Rhodes Park. Calf was feeling weird!

Squad time trial at WEC
Not a great time but pretty much what I expected. Started well (too fast) and was on track for a decent time but faded badly. Ran with Zoe for the first 4 or so laps but she pulled away.
Splits:
32, 52, 54, 56, 56, 57, 57, 1'00
59, 103, 1'02, 1'00, 58, 1'00, 53.
So 30 seconds slower than 6 weeks ago. Not very encouraging! Calves handled it okay though and shin was fine, so there's hope:)
