SA Champs Middle - B'sorah Farm North
Had a pretty terrible race. I struggled to get into the map and felt dead. Despite trying to have a cautious start I lost 4 minutes to #1. Left the path too early and was too low. Relocated off the end of the path. Stopped short to #4 and again couldn't make sense of the rocks. Things improved a bit with some decent navigation from #5 onwards although I hesitated on #11 and messed up #13 a bit.
Terrain was much more tricky than I expected and I felt really rusty! The heat was also hectic. Lucky to get 3rd. Miles behind Christie and Michele though.

Nuweberg North
Last time I ran here was in 2010 so was awesome to be back. Some great views and lots of yellow flowers :-)
First half was decent with solid nav. Took the second half pretty easy with lots of walking and had some sloppy sections including stuffing up the last control pretty badly. Quite a bit of contouring, a fair bit of climb (felt way more than it actually was) and sore legs from yesterday slowed me down quite a bit. Also trying not to overdo things with my foot which was a bit tender by the end.

Sanlam 12km trail run.
Started at Greenpoint A track with a fast flat 1st km, then up the hill and stairs to Springbok Road. Then wound up to Signal Hill on some rocky single track. Pretty brutal first half which wasn't helped by starting a bit fast. Enjoyed the second half with lots of technical downhills.
Foot felt good :-) Feeling pretty unfit though.
