Easy out-and-back jog at a trail near my office -- Lake Link / Cradleboard.

I realized that, other than a few orienteering races, I haven't run at all for the past six weeks or so... Ugh.

I started off slow and got even slower when my achilles / lower calf started to hurt and my stomach started to misbehave. On the bright side, I'm 95% certain I saw two eagles perched in a tree. They were HUGE (much bigger than the typical hawks around here), and they seemed to have white heads.

I jogged 3.1 miles and walked the rest.

- Warm-up: jogged four laps around the gym, various kettlebell drills (16#), and squat-clean practice.

- Five rounds, for time: 105# squat clean x 7 / 35# kettlebell swing x 14. I didn't want to spend the rest of this week hobbling around in pain, so I used just 45# on the squat cleans and 20# on the kettlebell swings. The goal was to finish in around 10 minutes; my time was 9:35, so I guess those super-light weights were about right for me...

- Foam-roller stretching.

The two other girls showed up this time. It's kinda funny to see how un-motivated the high school girl is... She showed up without her music, and said she forgot it at home. Later she admitted it was lost and she had no idea where it might be. ;-)

- Warm-up -- two rounds: 300m row / stairs x 2 / jumprope x 100.

- Dynamic stretching.

- "Cindy" -- AMRAP in 20 minutes: kipping pull-ups x 5 / push-ups x 10 / squats x 15. I completed nine rounds + five pull-ups, but I did all the push-ups on my knees.

- Foam roller.

I drove to Erie to check out this weekend's corn maze venue. I left work later than I had planned to, and the maze closed at 4:00 pm, so I only had about 30 minutes. This maze seems harder than last year's maze, and I only had time to get half of the 18 controls... But the farm is really cool -- all the activities are in a much more compact area than at last year's farm. If all of today's snow melts, and if it's not too muddy, and if it's moderately warm, the meet should go well.
