I signed up for my running group's new "Beginner Running" class, just so I'd have some structure and motivation to actually RUN on a regular basis... There are a few other out-of-shape runners in the class, so I'm not the only non-beginner. The class meets Mon / Wed at 6:45 am, so the biggest hurdle for me will be going to bed before 1am and getting up at 6am on a regular basis. :-P
Walked over to the Rec Center, to the indoor track. I think I'm remembering this correctly:
- Walk one lap / jog one lap.
- Walk one / jog two.
- Walk one / jog three.
- Walk one.
- Jog three / walk one.
- Jog two / walk one.
17 laps / 1.7 miles.
Walked home.
Strength / Stretching 5:00 [3]
Five minutes of core / hip work -- 60-seconds of each: plank, crunches, flutter kicks, leg lifts on each side.
