shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2018)

Warmup run.

Run / Hike race 27:31 [3] 3.14 mi (8:46 / mi) +62ft 8:36 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:116.7lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2018)

I didn't get to sleep until ~2am, so I slept through the 8am LoCOfit breakfast run. Instead, I decided to go to the 5K "WinterFest" race I had been halfway considering all week, since it didn't start until 1pm.

It was an out-and-back course along the Plum Creek trail in Castle Rock. I tried to push the pace on the "out" (downhill but with a headwind), but I faded on the slightly-uphill return trip. It has only been one week since I donated blood, so I'm still using that as an excuse. :-P

Mile splits were 8:03, 8:51, and 9:17.

Banana-nutella "quesadillas" and free beer afterwards.

slept:4.0 weight:116.8lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2018)

Lunchtime run -- from home up to Harper Lake, two laps around the lake, and then back home.

I got to see several goose tongues when they hissed at me (there are zillions of geese camped out on the trail around Harper Lake).

Weekly Runners Roost run. I was kinda distracted by two eBay auctions that were ending a few minutes after the run started -- and then my stomach started acting up. So I just did three miles instead of tonight's full five-mile loop.

Cycling 1:33:25 [3] 16.05 mi (5:49 / mi) +329ft 5:43 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:116.7lbs shoes: Safire

Bike ride -- from home, one lap around the arboretum, up the Tyler Ave hill, and then three laps around Harper Lake / Davidson Mesa.

It was sunny, blue sky, and 40s, but there was a brisk wind -- first from the north, and then from the west. I had on the right layers to stay comfortable (bike tights, midweight wool shirt, and windbreaker), but the wind was unpleasant.

Also, my fingers went numb after about 30 minutes, which happens on pretty much every ride -- very annoying. I'm not sure if it's my gloves, hand position, grip shape, or what...

I would kinda like to withdraw from the 50 km "Old Man Winter" bike race I signed up for (it's in February). Hmmm.
