Weekly Runners Roost run.

Rain...then light snow...then "frozen mix" / painful pellets...and then sustained snow. It was slightly miserable, but probably good practice for this Sunday's trail race; the forecast looks...unfortunate.

I worked through the nicest part of the day (the work vibe has taken another nose-dive...even my always-cheerful boss seems really down and defeated), and then it got dark and windy, and then I got unmotivated. Wunderground says gusts are currently 35 mph.

So -- just some RMOC catch-up work: looked up RMOC results from Older Dash; updated the Annual Meeting / Score-O meet details page; posted Corn Maze results; composed an HTML email update with embedded photos; and a few email follow-ups.

Sarah G. was doing a CX race at the park near my house, so I walked over to watch & cheer.

I had planned to do a long run today, but the wind -- starting at 2am -- was ridiculous. And it was cold.

So I did yard work (my yard / patio is on the leeward side) and started to chip away at my total disaster of a basement: I assembled the clothes rack I bought 10 months ago, so now that huge box is out of my living room; posted and sold my overly large hard-sided suitcase for $35 (yay!); recycled or shredded many inches of old notes & papers from work (boxes I brought home when my office closed 13 months ago); took a bunch of empty boxes to the recycle bin (I hate buying boxes to ship things in...but the ~20 others I flattened & kept will be plenty); and started a Goodwill pile. But I feel like I've only finished about 10% of what needs to be done down there...

Simon & Charlotte (RMOC friends) hosted a one-hour Score-O and brunch in their neighborhood in downtown Golden -- mainly for their running club members, but a few RMOC people were invited as "orienteering ambassadors". :-)

I hit the wrong button to start my watch, so I wasn't sure of my exact time and ended up being 2-3 minutes over the one-hour limit. But before my penalty points were deducted, I think I had the highest score.

Delicious brunch afterwards, and I definitely ate too much -- quiche, cheese grits, candy corn, mini cinnamon rolls, almond-flour shortbread cookies, and chai-spice pound cake (my contribution).
