slept:8.0 weight:122.3lbs shoes: Brooks Caldera (2020)

Sigh...my bruised ribs are much better, but now my leg is the limiting factor (after yesterday's bike spill). I tried to run a few steps tonight -- no go, very painful.

So -- just a neighborhood walk.

Cycling 2:19:57 [3] 20.17 mi (6:56 / mi) +1134ft 6:35 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:123.7lbs shoes: Safire

Dirty Bismarck MTB loop, from home.

It was hot when I started, but then clouds moved in -- yay. Maybe that changing weather was the cause of the brutal westerly headwind the whole way up the Coalton trail -- which is a grind even when there's not any wind.

My overall time was slow since I stopped several times (to adjust the neck-scratching velcro on my pack; to eat a gel at the top of the Coalton trail; and then, even though I tried really hard to resist, to stop multiple times for cactus-flower photos) -- 2:19:57 moving time vs. 2:35:03 elapsed time.

I rode down the log stairs without hesitation and then attempted to ride the lower rock section. I think I was too slow & hesitant, and I wiped out badly. I'm not sure what gouged into my outer quad (bike seat or frame?), but it's VERY painful still, hours later (a deep bruise, no blood drawn). So much for biking as a less painful alternative to running while my ribs are still sore...

But still a nice ride overall.

Wipeout location...ugh.

Orienteering 1:30:16 [3] 3.16 mi (28:34 / mi) +771ft 23:12 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:124.3lbs shoes: Salomon Speedcross (2017-Navy)

Orienteering training course at White Ranch (UsynligO). My bruised ribs are still painful (and now, I guess from hunching or compensating, I have a near constant cramp on the back of my shoulder on that side), so I just did Orange. Time & distance include the hike to the start and the walk back from the finish to parking.

It was a beautiful day, and I saw surprisingly few other people out there.

Note

I got ready to go for a ride -- sunscreen, helmet, backpack, etc. -- and then it wouldn't stop thunderstorming. :-|

Run / Hike 1:00:24 [3] 5.18 mi (11:40 / mi) +193ft 11:16 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:124.6lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2020)

I had planned to go for a bike ride, but there was a blustery storm moving through when I was ready to go, and I didn't want to get caught out far from home if lightning started up...

So I went for a run -- a very painful run due to my bruised ribs that are still hurting and making it hard to get deep breaths.

Eastward to Community Park, and then back the same way. No lightning, and only a few very light sprinkles
