Saturday Oct 31 #

8 AM

Run / Hike 46:54 [3] 4.33 mi (10:50 / mi) +213ft 10:21 / mi
slept:7.75 weight:121.6lbs shoes: Hoka Challenger (2019)

LoCO FIT breakfast run. We started at the golf course and did an out-and-back on the Coal Creek Trail to Superior. Beautiful weather! Breakfast on the clubhouse deck afterwards.

Then I came home and did about an hour of yard work, including hack-sawing the dead parts of a large bush and trimming back my dead annuals. I eventually realized trying to sweep up leaves during heavy wind was a silly, pointless task... Then I washed my bike since it was relatively warm (it had lots of dead bugs on the front, from when I drove to & from Fruita a few weeks ago).

Cycling 1:50:00 [3] 17.85 mi (6:10 / mi) +875ft 5:53 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Safire

MTB ride. Parts of the Dirty Bismark loop are closed due to mud, so I did some out-and-backs on the two segments of the trail accessible from Superior, as well as the dirt road in that area.

It was sunny and 60 degrees -- and there were zillions of other people out on the trails.

6 AM

Run / Hike 48:00 [3] 4.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:121.3lbs shoes: Hoka Challenger (2019)

LoCO FIT morning run. I was v-e-r-y close to ignoring my 5:45 am alarm, but I eventually forced myself up & out.

We met at the rec center. I paired up with Monica, since she and I have a very similar pace; the others were out of sight within minutes.

It was a very pleasant 32 degrees -- no more ice or snow on the sidewalks.

10 AM

Administration 3:30:00 [1]
shoes: Brooks Caldera (2020)

Carryout Caravan. I need to wear a step counter for this next time...

6 PM

Run / Hike 59:13 [3] 5.5 mi (10:46 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:121.6lbs shoes: Hoka Challenger (2019)

Weekly Runners Roost Group Run.

Starting from Founder's Park, I did the loop in reverse (starting on the dirt road and finishing on the Mayhoffer-Singletree trail).

After the past few days of bitter cold, today's 40s felt nice (I had to take off my gloves).

Tuesday Oct 27 #

6 AM

Run / Hike 1:07:14 [3] 5.04 mi (13:20 / mi) +209ft 12:50 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:120.6lbs shoes: Hoka Challenger (2019)

LoCO FIT group run -- just four of us, since it was so cold (13°F).

From the rec center, up to Davidson Mesa. The others did the full loop, but I did one short mesa loop, then a loop around Harper Lake, and then a loop around the arboretum -- all at a very slow pace, since the trails were snow-packed.

Certification Prep 5:00:00 [0]

GMAT prep (reading, notes, practice questions, etc.).

I was very excited to learn last week that the online GMAT, which is being offered right now due to COVID, does not include the analytical writing section. I thought that would knock out a big chunk of my 1,151-page test prep book.

Unfortunately, for some reason, the analytical writing section only accounts for 63 pages in that book. DOH! But I guess I'm still glad it's not on the actual test...

12 PM

Strength / Stretching 15:00 [3]
slept:8.0 weight:120.6lbs

Shoveling snow.

2 PM

Strength / Stretching 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2020)

I decided to try one of the rec center's Zoom fitness classes. It felt like a Silver Sneakers class (e.g. very detailed directions about how to get down to the mat, how to get up again, how to safely get into a plank position, etc.)...but at least I was moving and not sitting at my computer.

5 PM

Run / Hike 20:06 [3] 1.2 mi (16:45 / mi) +81ft 15:45 / mi
shoes: Saucony Razor (Snow)

A quick walk around the neighborhood -- 17 degrees, lots of lumpy snow & ice still on the sidewalks.

Sunday Oct 25 #

3 PM

Run / Hike 43:43 [3] 3.51 mi (12:27 / mi) +274ft 11:36 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2020)

Snowy & slow neighborhood run (13°F). Three laps around the rec center hill loop.
