slept:9.0 weight:119.5lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2021)

Run / Hike 1:47:21 [3] 9.29 mi (11:33 / mi) +529ft 10:58 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:121.1lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2021)

Out & back, Mayhoffer-Singletree to Hwy 93, walking the first & last quarter miles as warmup & cooldown. Despite the dire flash flood warnings that have been in effect since last night, it didn't rain at all (except for a few sprinkles at the very end).

I expected to see a shorter run on my plan today since I had 9 miles assigned last weekend (Erin always alternated long & short on the weekends). But, nope, I had 8-9 on the plan.

I planned to just do 8, but it's amazing what a big difference it makes to have weather that's 20 degrees cooler (70s) and cloudy. Last weekend (90s), I stopped several times to drink water or just stand in the shade for a few minutes, and it felt like a hot & difficult slog the whole time; today, I felt pretty good and only stopped once, at the halfway point, for water and a Honey Stinger gel.

On the down side, there were numerous swarms of black gnats all along the way, and they kept sticking to the sunscreen on my face / neck / chest / arms -- SO GROSS.

Run / Hike 49:21 [3] 2.64 mi (18:42 / mi) +174ft 17:36 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:120.3lbs

Afternoon walk -- to Mike's house for a LOLA Runners happy hour, and then downtown for the Street Fair. I didn't really want to go to the Street Fair (too many tasks on my to-do list...and discomfort with crowds and the delta variant on my mind), and then it started pouring rain. We waited it out under a park shelter for a while; when the rain let up, the rest of the group continued on and I had a good excuse to head home.

- Walked a half mile and then ran the rest of the way to the Daughenbaugh / Warembourg trailhead (and I found a five dollar bill along the way).

- Mile repeats x 4: 9:17, 8:57, 8:37, 8:45.

- Ran a mile and then walked the rest of the way home.
