Orienteering race (Green course) 1:29:30 [3] 4.21 mi (21:16 / mi) +374ft 19:37 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speedcross (2014)

I think this was my favorite course of the weekend, mostly because the terrain was more scenic and varied (pine forest).

I was happy with #1-2-3-4. I deviated from the straight line too much on my way to #5; I should have stayed to the left of the aspen grove.

I got REALLY lost on the way to #6. I was able to relocate when I spotted someone else's control in a distinct narrow clearing, which I was able to find on the map.

#7, #8, and the first 3/4 of getting to #9 went according to plan, but I lost contact with the map as I got close to #9.

I ran a little bit more today than on the previous two days.

Loaded oranges & pretzels into truck. Picked up ice and 30 gallons of water at Walmart. Set up snack tables & canopy. Filled jugs w/ water & Vitalyte. Packed up & cleaned everything (tables, trays, coolers) afterwards.

Orienteering race (Green course) 1:40:00 [3] 4.73 mi (21:09 / mi) +436ft 19:27 / mi

I got kinda lost in the rocks as I approached #1, and I zig-zagged back and forth before finding it.

From #2 to #3, should have been more straight-line (through the saddle halfway in between them).

Got way off my bearing on the way to #5, and was starting to feel demoralized from being so slow and inaccurate. Then the rest went OK, but it was mostly open and somewhat easier than the first half of the course.

Of the three race days, I felt the most out-of-shape on this one. Blah.

Orienteering race (Green course) 1:31:36 [3] 4.69 mi (19:32 / mi) +397ft 18:05 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speedcross (2014)

I probably should have gone more straight-line on my way to #1. I can't remember if I went around on purpose, or if I just misread the rocky knolls.

I'm not sure how I got so far off my bearing on my way from #6 to #7, but I was able to correct once I hit the trail and then I used the rocky ridge as a handrail.

On my way from #8 to #9, hitting #1 again helped me relocate and correct my direction of travel.

A nice course and a nice day, but I mostly walked and felt very out of shape.
