Sunday Feb 24 #

10 AM

Running warm up/down 23:02 [3] 4.24 km (5:26 / km)

Combined WU/WD with Tom and Fred.

Orienteering race 52:52 [3] 8.14 km (6:30 / km)

SOL @ Birsemore Hill- Brown.
Messed up #1 cos that of boulders and knolls everywhere. Wrong side of the hill to #3 after a very hesitant leg and an overshoot to #4 having joined the dad train.
After that was pretty good, decent compass and picking out features well at a decent pace. Safe through the technical section at the end which was good before I got binned on the home stretch by Fred and his taunting. Solid week

Saturday Feb 23 #

2 PM

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)

WU/WD with Tom

Orienteering race 17:30 [3] 4.18 km (4:11 / km)

Cove SprintO
Just took it chill so felt fine when I finished. No real mistakes but was surprisingly technical.
7 PM

Running warm up/down 27:25 [3] 4.33 km (6:20 / km)

WU/WD. Avec beaucoup de personnes

Orienteering race 1:16:53 [3] 9.8 km (7:51 / km)

British Nights @ Muir of Dinnet. 4th.
Toughest race I’ve ever done- brutal physical and nav just made this very long. Only really made one big mistake but was being insanely conservative in how I orienteered, taking absolutely no risks. Was fun tho

(rest day)

Needed

Thursday Feb 21 #

9 AM

Running 48:27 [3] 10.75 km (4:30 / km)

Down the leith then on a new cycle path where I ended up taking a bridge to nowhere then having to jump off said bridge onto the bank to get down to the path below, before ending up on the sea front. Yup. Epic.
Did 5x (30 sprint 30 jog) as well but my exploring was interesting enough.
81k in the last week- taking a rest tomorrow before t’ weekend

Wednesday Feb 20 #

4 PM

Running 26:01 [3] 5.25 km (4:57 / km)

Super easy recovery round inverleith Park. Felt a bit tight so had a good stretch afterwards. Also saw the B777 coming into edin which was nice

Tuesday Feb 19 #

11 AM

Running 15:00 [3] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)

Drills/WU/WD

Orienteering 14:34 [3] 3.94 km (3:42 / km)

Sprint @ North Muirton. Took it hard and was clean apart from being caught out like everyone else at #1. Got Todge by a second so the battle continues.....
1 PM

Running 11:24 [3] 2.07 km (5:30 / km)

Combined WU/WD with Evie a new WU buddy for me

Orienteering 27:27 [3] 5.02 km (5:28 / km)

2nd/3rd leg Relay sim @ Kinnoull
Set off with flurry Matt and dan with the very scary prospect of a bloodthirsty Todge behind me. Left flurry after #3 when he went the wrong way and was pretty lonely round the loop till going to #12 when I saw the train piling towards me. Caught by Pete and stuck with him till on the way to #16 when he burned me off in a rather easylooking matter.
Great fun really enjoyed it such a class area- lightning quick

Monday Feb 18 #

10 AM

Running warm up/down 8:32 [3] 1.74 km (4:54 / km)

To and from

Orienteering 37:08 [3] 5.52 km (6:44 / km)

Long style course on Dunalastair. Quite tough going but really enjoyed and pretty technically sound as well apart from 1 wee slip.
1 PM

Running warm up/down 8:34 [3] 1.62 km (5:17 / km)

Bleuch

Orienteering 44:55 [3] 5.24 km (8:34 / km)

Middle @ Dunalastair.
Pleased with nav again just was quite rough so sometimes struggled to get decent speed through the terrain. Some tiny misses mainly not being able to see the wee kites.
