SLR - decided to chance it through the towpath closure, was surprised to see that there were some workers there but I managed to dive through a bush and scamper away before they saw me. Did the muiravonside - cockleroy cut through - felt fine again and making okay progress apart from one gnarly field. Enjoyed beecraigs as ever - could feel the big thaw starting slightly.. The point about achilles on snow is a very good one (which I only read after this run) that I defo hadn't considered - it eased off today but was noticeable at points. Rest tomorrow and will play it by ear this week

Canal ints/hills 8(2), 2x4(1.5), 2x2(1), 5 rest, 8x40 sec hills (jog down recovery) Towpath has been really flattened down so is very hard packed snow which was maste icy in some places. Had to take things particularly easy under the bridges/tree cover. Second 4 got off to bad start when a stupid dog did the thing where they just move into your path at the last second so whacked my shin - hurt like a bandit for the rest of the rep. Hills were decent - road had no ice so made decent progress. Had to stop for a tractor after the 3rd rep. Left achilles area started randomly to ping a bit during the sesh - never ever had this before so putting it down to the weird thing where random parts of my legs just say hello in a sesh then go away again. HRM was all over the place

Easy fisher’s brae. Took my jec 2019 long map for some distraction - kinda amazing how rubbish some of my routechoices were. Seems I turned into a weapons grade moron when deciding where to go to #3. Still can’t decide the best route for the first long leg though.

Brilliant Beecraigs run. Super cold, sunny and calm - perfect conditions. Did get a bit of shift on for most of it which is reflected in the heart rate but not the pace lol. Beecraigs itself was absolutely magic - really deep snow and 2 sections of path (1 of which is my fave) which were completely untouched - just fantastic to run today. A big fat thumbs up from me.

Bridgend loop. The track from Parkley to kingscavil was completely untouched - cue 2k of wading through unbroken 30cm snow. Fun. Some more ploughing along to Bridgend and a bit less deep. Lovely day out and all the snow just makes for a great combo. Defo gonna Beecraigs tomorrow

Canal ints 8x3(2) Goodness me. Quite the day. Headed out and there was a good half a feet on the street which was so cool. Decided canal over leisure centre cos it might be more trodden. Did the warm up heading east into a blizzard which was a laugh. Decided to do tailwind only reps to give myself a chance - the 7 inches of snow was enough to deal with. Naturally, paces were outrageously slow but to be expected - effort level felt fine. Reps got a bit quicker going through linlithgow as the snow was a bit less deep. Also saw the old guy out running. As if my respect levels for him couldn’t get any higher. Different class man.

WD. Towpath beyond the closed section was completely untouched so that was great to run along. Defo a new record today in one aspect - never worn helly, top and jacket for ints before
