Joined the group to start and then made my own merry lonely way out to Toft, sticking it in 3rd gear and clipping along all the way home. Some of the paths in/around fields are crazy overgrown now - and it’s only June.
A good week of training after a gentle start post WC2. 2 standard volume weeks with a lot of sprint coming up - looking forward to it.

On my lonesome today and battling some fierce headwinds, but I’ll take those splits. The Ks felt pretty nice with the 400s being a bit more of a grind.

Back in the game with the loop #2 at King’s Hedges. A total deviation between all reps of 1.9 seconds - that seems like a good thing?
I took some maps that the guys did in Italy, including the crazy fortress one. Practising trying to be more purposeful when reading the map - what am I actually picking up, how am I making decisions etc.
Got round to watching the weekend’s races last night. Some interesting observations to be had, but mainly I didn’t clock that the Regbot’s 10 second fastest split on the long leg could have been even quicker if he hadn’t missed ~4 secs heading to the wrong steps at the start. The man is a machine.

The first time in my life when I have woken up and thought, ‘I’d like to run lode lite this morning’. And good thing too, cos this was thoroughly enjoyable, particularly the parkour required to get over the closed lock.
Certainly it was a lot more enjoyable than what has transpired to be an absolute dumpster fire of a day with my laptop deciding that today was the perfect day to forget how to connect to wifi. Exam (for which I did vanishingly little revision in Italy) in 14 hours :))

Fancied a bash up the hill pre-departure. A few steps and angry dogs to start with but I was soon on a lovely wee trail which opened out into some great cows all around. Excellent vibes and a good chance to mull over the weekend before the inevitable return to exams.
