Run race (Orienteering) 1:58:34 [0] **** 16.99 km (6:59 / km) +464m 6:08 / km
ahr:171 max:182 9c

This is a strange race. It was a long race up in the mountains, on a map not designed for orienteering races. Boulders, cliffs, vegetation and exposed rock were all features that would have been useful had they been present on the map. The scale was 1:30000 and the contours were 10 meters. Needless to say this was an unusual event. I felt strong physically, but I was not prepared for the wind and rain, which both tired me out. I was, at one point, running in a thunderstorm. I was very tired at the end of it. The orienteering was good, after a short adjustment period. A few minor mistakes here and there, mostly struggling to understand the map going into certain controls. A good race with a lot to learn from.

Run intervals (Hill) 34:46 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (14:46 @5) 5.4 km (6:26 / km) +88m 5:57 / km
ahr:147 max:177

Hill intervals. 15 minute warmup, five minute cooldown. Eight times up the hill Not a very structured workout, but it was good to go running. My legs felt strong and light during the warmup, and the first two intervals were nice. After that I started feeling it, and my speed was decreasing. I need to make sure that I stay hydrated throughout the whole day. I also noticed my left hip was a little stiff, but this is probably due to the stretching I've been doing passively. Felt good today
