Run intervals (Hill) 29:34 [5] 5.32 km (5:33 / km) +47m 5:19 / km
ahr:140 max:179

Around 15 minutes of warmup, followed by eight times up my hill at max pace. I felt generally tired when doing this training, I'm not sure if it is due to a long day at school, the fact that I haven't done intervals in a while or my body being tired after the past few trainings. I manged to get up that hill all eight times, so I guess it wasn't the worst training experience I've had. But this type of training is not exactly entertaining.

Orienteering 29:31 [3] *** 3.85 km (7:40 / km) +87m 6:53 / km

The jump from 1:15000 to 1:4000 is quite a big one. The terrain was right by the coast, which means a very rocky place with green patches a plenty. The most challenging aspect of this race was the aforementioned scale, I wasn’t quite prepared for the amount of focus I needed to have for the whole race. This lead to the majority of my mistakes involving stopping to relocate or having to make a sharp turn to hit the control. Physically the race was solid, not too tired and the terrain didn’t pose too great of a challenge. I had a stomachache the whole way through, which is the result of poor dietary choices.

Orienteering race 1:49:37 [4] 14.6 km (7:30 / km) +431m 6:33 / km
ahr:150 max:180 spiked:8/15c

An extremely long and tiring race. Lots of marshes and hills to go over. The orienteering was solid for a good portion of the race, but I let it slip towards the end. The physical aspect of the race was decent, I started slowly and managed to keep the pace the whole way through. This pace is something that I want to work on, which means that more running training needs to be done.

Orienteering race 29:29 [4] **** 4.3 km (6:51 / km) +134m 5:56 / km
ahr:181 max:189 spiked:10/17c

This was was in mountainous terrain. Lots of swamps, rocks and contours to get over. I had a decent technical race, all of my mistakes were a result of poor compass work. I should have taken more care in setting myself on tells correct route. Physically I felt pretty good at the start, but over time I got quite tired. I’m not sure if it’s due to the training I’ve been doing or just the terrain wearing me down. Overall, a pretty sloppy race technically and not great physically either. Lots of good orienteering, just not enough.

Run 15:18 [4] 3.36 km (4:33 / km) +52m 4:13 / km
ahr:182 max:194

Ran a trail race today, went at it with the intention to win. Felt good to run fast, I managed to get some of that competition feeling. Aside from one guy who was far ahead of everyone, I was leading the pack. It was a good feeling, I felt good running and it was a fun experience.
