Run 2:03:45 [4] 15.7 km (7:53 / km) +964m 6:02 / km
ahr:143 max:183

A long run in mountainous terrain, absolutely destroyed me. I was already tired, and starting on this run was a death sentence. It was very fun, we had to cut it short due to the snow. I also fell down and busted my knee up pretty bad, so I'll be taking a solid break.

Orienteering 38:17 [4] **** 4.92 km (7:47 / km) +156m 6:43 / km
ahr:153 max:175 27c

A good run, challenging terrain with challenging legs. I felt really tired, which might have helped my orienteering because I wasn't against slowing down. Most of my mistakes were from carelessness, I should have focused more on the map and used my compass more. I am still happy with the result though, not a bad race.

Run 37:47 [2] 6.01 km (6:17 / km) +489m 4:28 / km
ahr:148 max:161

A nice run after a week of hard training, pretty relaxing but still pretty hilly. It was a good shakeout, but I wasn't exactly feeling relaxed by the end of it.

Orienteering 44:18 [2] *** 5.43 km (8:10 / km) +228m 6:45 / km

Really satisfying training, awesome terrain with great visibility. There were some technical areas but I had those under control for the most part. Reading and seeing the contours was satisfying and the challenging aspect of this training. Lots of fun and a solid performance, nice change of pace.

Orienteering 35:00 [2] *** 5.39 km (6:30 / km) +74m 6:04 / km
ahr:157 max:174

Long run in awesome terrain! Nice and open, perfect runability and great compass training. I was very pleased with how it went, aside from some mistakes going into controls. Overall, an awesome experience in terrain I want to get back into!

Orienteering (Night) 26:35 [4] **** 3.82 km (6:58 / km) +149m 5:50 / km
ahr:161 max:184

A night training, pretty tough technically and the darkness didn't do me any favors. I didn't have the pace that I wanted, probably because I was tired, and I didn't navigate as well as I wanted to. I thinking this training might have been pushing it for me, so I just needed to take a break and get ready for more training!

Orienteering 42:39 [3] **** 5.56 km (7:41 / km) +160m 6:43 / km
ahr:150 max:174 spiked:10/19c

Difficult training, kinda reminded me of Hungary. Lots of details to use but many places where I had to simplify the map as best as possible to be able to really read it. Getting lost/losing control was a nightmare, completely impossible to re-orientate. However, the controls I nailed felt really nice and my mistakes were mostly due to a lack of focus or not paying attention to the correct details. Overall, I was pretty happy with this training.

Orienteering 29:03 [3] **** 3.63 km (8:00 / km) +135m 6:45 / km
ahr:152 max:169 spiked:14/18c

Less enjoyable training, felt overwhelmed by the amount of controls and the small size of the area the course used. I made mistakes that I felt I shouldn't have made: The map wasn't entirely accurate either, which irritated me further. I didn't have the focus I should have had and in the future I should focus on getting past mistakes that take my mind off of my orienteering.

Orienteering 53:35 [4] **** 7.94 km (6:45 / km) +160m 6:08 / km
ahr:166 max:185 spiked:20/29c

A high intensity training in some challenging terrain. A good mix between really fast and incredibly technical terrain, and I'm generally happy with my performance. I was alone for most of the race, and in the very technical areas I wasn't going fast at all. But I was making sure I was finding my way to the controls, which I managed for the most part. Most of my mistakes came as a result of poor compass work or from a lack of focus when the leg required it. Looking back at it, I was very pleased with this training and happy that I manged the technical aspects of it well.

Orienteering 39:27 [3] **** 5.0 km (7:53 / km) +141m 6:55 / km
ahr:166 max:184 spiked:16/27c

Fifth training in Madrid, focus on running at a relaxed pace alongside other people. It was interesting to see where other people ran, and to compare my choice with theirs. A good way to learn what it's like to run alongside people and compete. Technically there were aspects that were challenging, but for the most part running here wasn't too bad. Most of my mistakes happened because I wasn't focused enough or because I wasn't applying my skills well enough. Still, not a bad training and certainly fun!

Orienteering 38:05 [2] *** 5.26 km (7:14 / km) +162m 6:16 / km
ahr:156 max:176 spiked:12/16c

Pretty relaxed training, but the navigation was completely new to me. I found it challenging to see the contours beneath the details, and to tell the details apart from one another. I got used to it eventually, and I was able to navigate pretty well towards the end of the course. I was also struggling to get a sense of scale, I couldn't always tell large rocks from small ones. Overall, a good introduction to the terrain and the mapping style. I felt I got the hang of it towards the end, so there's hope for some solid trainings and navigation in the coming days!

3 PM

Orienteering 35:30 [2] *** 4.44 km (8:00 / km) +117m 7:04 / km
ahr:147 max:172 spiked:10/13c

Second training, pretty good experience. Running was challenging due to the high bushes and rocks, but it felt kinda nice to weave through them and make my way to the control. I'm still getting used to the terrain, the vegetation and the abundance of rocks makes it difficult to see very well, and knowing what you see isn't always clear either. I didn't make too many mistakes, I certainly didn't feel as helpless as the previous training. Overall, a pretty good training with some solid orienteering and some mistakes to learn from.
7 PM

Orienteering (Night) 41:11 [3] *** 5.79 km (7:07 / km) +151m 6:18 / km
ahr:155 max:179 spiked:7/15c

Last training for the day, a night run in a pretty open area. For the most part, finding my way to the general area of the control wasn't a problem, but knowing exactly how to approach it was an issue. Knowing my exact location was also tough for me, the terrain was pretty vague and running at night exaggerated this. It was a decent run with a few too many mistakes, but still a good time.
