Cross-country skiing (Skate) 1:24:49 [4] 16.88 km (5:01 / km) +227m 4:42 / km

Skate ski at Whistler Olympic Park (aka Slush City). Very soft trails, which made going uphill a disaster. I really liked the Neverland Trail (so gentle they call it a "double green") as it gave me plenty of time to practice my technique without getting knackered on steeper hills.

When I'm on form and can actually use my poles on every foot push (i.e. left and right, rather than just left foot), I could get up quite some speed. After a while I'd lose a bit of balance and have to slow down to recover.

Fewer issues with my arches today. Great day to be outside in the spring-like weather!

Hiking 58:29 [2] 3.62 km (16:09 / km) +121m 13:51 / km

Control pickup from the Darkside at Cypress Falls. Logging it as a hike rather than orienteering as I just walked, and didn't take a map. Took some different route choices to when I set the controls, but still spiked them all.

For the record - Ben without a map takes better routes than Grambo with a map...

Sadly, I finished picking up just in time to hit rush hour on the Lions Gate Bridge. Hopefully this is only time this year I'll leave the North Shore between 4 and 7!

BBA around Redwood City. I'm at Stanford for 3 days for meetings, and this is pretty much the only free time I have. Very urban, but found a high school track a few km from my hotel. Wasn't sure of the etiquette, but a couple of other people were there so I assume it is open to the public. 2km road, 2km track, 2km road.

Cross-country skiing (Skate) 1:03:07 [4] 8.52 km (7:24 / km) +173m 6:44 / km
ahr:156 max:178

Skate skiing at Cypress. Several cm of fresh snow that hadn't been groomed slowed me down.

Felt fine while I was out there, but arches hurt when I got back to the car. Still slightly painful now, but at least I can walk properly. The right foot was worse than the left, and the right foot is the one I am worse at when gliding (I'm more on edge). More technique drills needed.
