I travelled to Naples today, and am staying in a B&B in the old town. The cobbled streets make for a good ankle workout, and dodging tourists/mopeds/cars in the tiny alleyways is a good test of reflexes. The taxi driver showed an admirable respect for the rules of the road by reversing
the wrong way down a one-way street, rather than just driving the wrong way down it...
There have been thunderstorms all day, but I managed to squeeze in a run during a drier bit. I ran up a hill to one of the few green areas in the city; there's lots of public spaces, but they're mostly piazzas. The grass and forest area I found were lovely.
Got a sighting of (part of) Vesuvius on my way back. I have tomorrow free and am planning to head over to Herculaneum (we're doing Pompeii as a group activity at the end of the week). Hopefully it will be a bit clearer.
