Orienteering 54:45 [4] 8.53 km (6:25 / km) +219m 5:41 / km

WJR at Deep Cove. I like the loop format, and had some good head-to-head racing with Ian and Graeme. I was very slow in the forest, partially due to my shoe sole starting to detach; it was quite painful by the end as stones and other bits were getting stuck in there. Going to try some Shoe Goo and hope the sole can be reattached.

Cross-country skiing (Skate) 1:05:56 [4] 9.67 km (6:49 / km) +151m 6:19 / km
ahr:145 max:170

First skate ski of the season at Cypress. Beautiful day and really fun on the trails that were groomed. A lot of the trails hadn't been groomed overnight though, so spent a lot of time skating through a few cm of fresh snow, which was even more tiring than normal. My technique is still inefficient, but there were moments where it looked like I knew what I was doing.

Hiking 1:05:00 [1] 6.5 km (10:00 / km) +150m 8:58 / km

Walking to the WET at QE.

Orienteering 55:11 [3] 5.87 km (9:24 / km) +120m 8:32 / km
ahr:135 max:164

Memory Score-O in the snow at QE park. This was hard both mentally and physically. My brain could only store a few controls at a time, so I had to check the map 4 times in total; each check required running back up to the top of QE park. It also took me ages to engage my brain enough for the control locations to stick in my mind each time. 30cm of snow is quite tiring after a while. Finally got all the controls, but Nate beat me by a good 10 minutes.

This has got to be a contender for WET of the year. It was so much fun.

Lovely loop around PSP in the snow. Glad I wore my O shoes as there were a few sections of pure ice. So much fun running in the snow!
