Orienteering race 1:24:00 [4]
shoes: Innov8 X-talon

Long distance mass start at Mt ainslie. Was super hot so for one of the first times i was prepared with my gels (thanks to Ezy and Muz) and planned on taking one early on.

The first leg was over 2km long to the other side of mt ainslie, so i just cruised at a pace that would kill me later ,was good, no hassles there, it wasnt until number 6 where i came up the steep part and down to the track (my head must have been a bit loopy from the climb) cos i turned left on the track and the control was only about 100m to the right, and i continued to run left before i realised, ARG i lost about 2min, i was with Kathryn and Jo etc until then, but i kept my mind and got 6, then 7 was shaky down the ridge, was too far right but only lost about 45sec, and the rest were pretty good.

Got caught in a barbed fence between 15 and 16 , i literally couldnt move!

Ended up 4th overall, caught right back up to Aislyn i thnk it was right with about 200m to go, but since i had pused it a bit after the map change to catch her and keep away from shannon etc... i just didnt have a kick to sprint her. Its ok im happy i finished!

8 AM

Orienteering race 46:00 [4]
shoes: Innov8 X-talon

Middle in Canberra at Bruce Ridge, got number 1 well and then it was all over for me after number 2, i was literally 1-2m away from it right from the start, navigated perfectly just couldnt see it :( then continued to scan the area looking for where i could have gone wrong, figured out i must be right and took another few goes and eventually got it .... the rest of the course wasnt tooo bad, lost a min at 9 though where i got onto the wrong track...SO many tracks, felt fine physically
1 PM

Orienteering race (Sprint Relay) 15:00 [5]
shoes: DS Trainer 14

First sprint and a whole bunch of us lost about 3-4mins on number one where none of us read the dead ends twice! :(

After that it was a matter of running fast to make up anytime possible, no mistakes after that

Handed to Julian, the good thing i guess is that a lot of the other top girls did the same thing, so there were others all going out late too

Orienteering race 10:00 [5]

leg three of the relay, julian ran really well as always, and he clawed back a fair bit, so all i had to do was stay with the top bunch and not make mistakes, this sprint was alot better as i learnt from my mistake and alot of the controls were the same...its was weird. came back in and julian went out and we ended up 2nd overall to ACT (jo and shep)
