| Ran with Terry on the trails at Wunderlich County Park and El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve (or OSP, for those in the know). We ascended the Alambique Trail to Skyline Blvd, then did a 6.5-mile loop in El Corte de Madera to the sandstone formation and back via the Methuselah Tree (a 14-foot diameter, 1800-year-old redwood). We took the Skyline and Bear Gulch trails back to the car. We made a bunch of tourist and bathroom stops, totalling a little over an hour. I was somewhat sore and stiff from yesterday but not too bad. |

| Two times around a 1.7 km loop at Magnuson, including a little bit of gnarly single-track trail and once up and down the kite hill. I took 4 minutes rest after each rep. On the first lap, I went anaerobic within about 40 seconds, and the pace felt comfortable for my legs but made me breathe hard. The second lap felt a little easier, and I decided to really push my turnover, which got up to about 102 paces per minute. Heart rates: 174+/114 (estimated; measured was 102, because of skipped beats), 174/120 (estimated; measured was 96, because of skipped beats).

It wasn't the biggest event we've had on campus, but it probably wasn't quite the smallest either. I made a 10 second overshoot on control 10, because I had my head in my map. |
