Running - Road / Track warm up/down (some grass, too) 17:00 [2] 2.27 mi (7:29 / mi) +65m 6:53 / mi
ahr:141 max:156 slept:1.5 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - 4

I warmed up for my much-postponed 3000m time trial, feeling profoundly tired in the legs to start with, then feeling just somewhat tired by the end of the warm up.

Note
slept:7.0 (rest day)

I had hoped to run the 3k time trial today, but I was so busy getting ready for Street Scramble that I didn't end up running at all.

Running - Road / Track (road) 22:08 [2] 3.0 mi (7:23 / mi) +110m 6:37 / mi
ahr:138 max:148 slept:7.2 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - 4

I ran the Hawthorne Hills loop before bed. My legs and shoulders are a bit sore and tired from shuffling around San Francisco yesterday carrying a backpack weighing at least 35 pounds. Work stuff got in the way of my planned rescheduled 3000m time trial, so it will get pushed back another day. I haven't slept enough this week; I hope I don't get sick.

Running - Road / Track (road, with backpack) 1:08:00 intensity: (14:00 @1) + (51:00 @2) + (3:00 @3) * 6.18 mi (11:00 / mi) +195m 10:01 / mi
ahr:135 max:158 slept:5.1 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - 4

I jogged/shuffled/walked around San Francisco scouting control locations for SFND. It was a gorgeous day, and of course, SF is a beautiful and interesting city, so control scouting is always rewarding.

The 35-pound-plus backpack soon began to hurt my shoulders when I walked earlier in the day, although for some reason, jogging was less painful.

The distace/pace is a guess.

Walking (with backpack) 31:40 [1] 2.3 mi (13:46 / mi) +60m 12:44 / mi
ahr:107 max:138 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - 4

After the 3000m time trial with Vladimir at Kezar Stadium was displaced by a San Jose Earthquake soccer game (that they scheduled without even asking us if we planned to use the track), I walked briskly to the 16th and Mission BART station.

Running - Trail / Grass (some road, too) 1:42:00 intensity: (57:00 @1) + (42:00 @2) + (3:00 @3) * 10.2 mi (10:00 / mi) +475m 8:44 / mi
ahr:127 max:164 slept:7.0 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - 4

I ran to scout controls for SFND. It was a beautiful day for it. My legs felt pretty good, and my heart rate went way up on a couple of the climbs. Pace is a guess.

Running - Road / Track warm up/down (mostly road) 12:29 intensity: (2:29 @1) + (10:00 @2) 1.6 mi (7:48 / mi) +70m 6:52 / mi
ahr:129 max:145 slept:9.0 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - 4

I went for a warm-up run before orienteering at McLaren Park. I felt sleepy and a bit weak, and my heart rate was slow to rise.

Orienteering race (sprintish) 22:13 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (10:00 @3) + (2:13 @4) *** 3.6 km (6:10 / km) +150m 5:06 / km
ahr:153 max:162 19c shoes: Nike Zoom Waffle - Husky color

I ran the Brown course at McLaren Park, having a fair but not particularly good run, with many moments of hesitation or indecision but no large mistakes. Despite pushing fairly hard and feeling reasonably strong in the legs, my heart rate never got very high. I guess both my mental and physical mediocrity were an extension of how I felt while warming up.

I had been looking forward to orienteering at McLaren Park again, and I was not disappointed.
