Orienteering 29:38 [4] 5.3 km (5:35 / km)

Orienteering Wednesday Night event in North Glenmore park. 5.3 km course done in 29:38 min (5:35 min/km). Was tired after 5 hours flight from Halifax earlier in the day. Made one big route choice mistake of 1:20 min, some small mistakes, total time loss of 2:00 min. Was beaten 1 minute by my small son Matthew, and with 5 minutes by my tall son Thomas. This was a course that I should have done in less than 27 minutes under normal conditions.

Running in Halifax, sidewalks in downtown, Dalhousie University and St. Mary's University, medium intensity, my legs were a bit heavy, 9 km, time 48:36 min

Sunday Apr 21, 2002 #

Running, road/sidewalk 48:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:20 / km)

Running in Halifax (sidewalks and dirt roads) after flying from Calgary, running from downtown hotel to Point Pleasant Park and a loop there, approx. 9 km, time 47:37 min, the park was pleasant, had to stop due to darkness as I had not brought my headlamp with me, medium intensity

Field checking of Pioneer Lodge map that we will use at the AOA training camp. Mostly running. HR 130-145. Time 1:56 hour.

Friday Apr 19, 2002 #

Running, road/sidewalk 1:15:00 [4] 16.0 km (4:41 / km)

Around Glenmore Reservoir at social race organized by Calgary Roadrunners. After 2 days of heavy business dinners that tested my stomach elasticity, it was good to do a 15.75 km run in nice afternoon weather. Time 1:14:51 (4:45 min/km).

Running, road/sidewalk 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

10 minutes easy warm-up for the around Glenmore run.
