Hip has been feeling a little funny since Monday hence no running. Physio on Tuesday said my hip was extremely tight and have been feeling my whole lower back & glutes since Monday. Spoke to my client of mine who is a retired sports doctor as he looked at my scans previously, he said it would be extremely bad luck if it was still fractured and sounds like the muscles are extremely tight around the hip. Got a massage post run today and really god stuck into my glutes and hips, will do some stretching tonight. Didn't feel any pain running but I feel it sitting and standing.
Think I may have over cooked it over the weekend but ran extremely controlled at the local race, I ran a 36 minute time last year and ran a 47 minute effort on Saturday, walked all hills etc. Hoping I have just taken 2 steps backwards and not 5.
Will keep it easy over the coming days and keep you posted. Good news is I applied for Athlete assistance at Tarawera and got it, so if all goes smoothly we will head to NZ in Feb.
