Orienteering race 2:50:53 [5] 13.65 km (12:31 / km) +245m 11:29 / km

Long distance on Teetotal Map.
Really struggled to get into the map, until about halfway through, then I crashed on the last loop.
I struggled in the heat, and should've called by a drink station before the last loop and a gel would've probably helped too

Orienteering race 1:03:28 [5] 4.53 km (14:01 / km) +136m 12:11 / km

Middle distance at Tunnicliffe Forest.
Had some major issues at control 4, along with majority of the other people that had the same control. When I was there, there over 10 of us looking for it. Anayway, other than that I had a couple of bad route choices, but maintained good contact with the map.

Stopped at Queen Elizabeth Park on the way down to Wellington, finished off with 5x100m grass sprints with 100m jog between.

Sledge track trail run, humid and hilly. Nice to run in the bush though :)

Orienteering 1:26:18 [4] 7.63 km (11:19 / km) +190m 10:03 / km

Halcione Map
First 1.2km was to follow the line, then four intervals, with the first three being fast and the last one focusing on route choice.

Camp was heaps of fun, was good to get back out. I struggled with the temperatures as I think I'm still adjusting (esp the humidity), definitely need to work on fitness though

Orienteering 35:48 [3] 3.02 km (11:51 / km) +89m 10:20 / km

Spent the day on Hapua Wetlands map. Again the ground was uneven, but not as bad as yesterday.
A verbalization exercise, told to take it easy as the next exercise was going to be demanding.

Orienteering 49:27 [4] 5.26 km (9:24 / km) +162m 8:09 / km

The temperature was above 30, and there was no shade. We did intervals. All involved running along the road for about 400-500m at the start before going out to the controls. First one went well, second one pretty good, went out for a third one pretty knackered and took it slow. Was absolutely smashed at the end of it.

Orienteering 39:58 [3] 2.6 km (15:22 / km) +62m 13:44 / km

Training in the hilly manuka bush focusing on keeping contact at all times. Bush was v thick at some points but all in all was a fun exercise and went pr well. Was pretty slow as I was so tired after the intervals.
