Running 1:03:04 [3] 11.05 km (5:42 / km) +115m 5:26 / km

Wasn't feeling great today, head was super foggy and legs felt heavy, so did an easy trail (with some road) run. Plan on taking it easier tomorrow too, going down south to Cape Palliser, I'm excited to get out of town

Orienteering 1:41:44 [3] 7.1 km (14:20 / km) +72m 13:38 / km

No controls/tape/toilet paper out which made it difficult to know I was in exactly the right and spot and also meant I was slower as I would try confirm at each control that I was in fact in the right spot.
5 lots of intervals with a corridor in the middle.
Ran three of the intervals individually and the others as a mass start to push ourselves. Overall was pr good, just went off my bearing twice.

Orienteering 41:23 [3] 3.53 km (11:43 / km) +46m 11:00 / km

Control picking. Just had a couple of issues around 4.

Went to the beach afterwards for a well deserved swim. There was some funky stuff going on, a super high tide and big waves, turns out there was warnings in the newspaper for people to stay away from the beaches due to yesterdays storm and king tides :/

Legs strengthening and rolling. Rolling sesh was much needed calves have been sore for a few days now.

Biking 36:00 [3] 16.2 km (2:13 / km)

Biked into town to catch up with a friend. Head wind the whole way. Plan was to bike home too, but my friend wouldn't let me bike home in the rain and wind

Wednesday Jan 31 #

Biking 1:08:18 [3] 25.0 km (2:44 / km) +260m 2:36 / km

Massey Loop, plus a side trip to see how the reno of the track is going and another one to check out a new development area that's popped up on the edge of town. Was nice to get out on the bike again.

Running 24:11 [3] 5.0 km (4:50 / km) +9m 4:48 / km

Easy run around Manarowa Park and the Esplanade. Ran barefoot and bruised my heel on a stone -.-

Tuesday Jan 30 #

Running 1:05:12 [3] 8.7 km (7:30 / km) +326m 6:19 / km

Trail run running part of the Manawatu Gorge track. Did one part of Tawa Loop, then continued along the gorge track until 35 min, back to the tawa loop junction, finished the loop and back to the car. Goal for this was to not stop on the uphill. Only stopped once at White Horse Rapids (1.5km in) to retie my shoes as they were too tight (kinda wanted to have feet at the end of it). Got the stitch at 3km to go, it stuck around until the end -.-

It was a cooker of a day so decided to go to the beach, wanted to stretch the legs out when I got there so did this short workout. Finished it off with a swim.

Orienteering race 1:23:17 [4] 6.46 km (12:54 / km) +19m 12:42 / km

Chasing start middle distance on West Bay map. After a horrendous day yesterday I was one of the last starters on the course (excluding the mass start) Caught the girl in front of me going to 1, then caught another girl going to 6. Was pr intricate navigation so I took it slow, had a couple of mistakes where I lost contact with the map
