Orienteering race 1:09:40 [4] *** 6.5 km (10:43 / km) +165m 9:31 / km
spiked:22/28c shoes: Nike Air Terra Humara

Advanced O at Webster park - basically the controls of the white, yellow and orange courses in any order less any one control. (no time limit) So sort of like a score-O.

Think I did reasonably well, a few issues, and a few suspect controls (or map).

Will get splits (that don't mean much but may be interesting to look at) and post race analysis in later.

7:07 Start - 15 - looked at map and decided I wanted to end on the northern section and so starting with 15 was the choice. Didn't look to see that nothing else was that direction. Then was looking for a re-entrant rather than the spur, ug. [note to self - spend more time on first control planning...]
2:07 15 - 14
0:34 14 - 13
2:15 13 - 18
3:43 18 - 23 took eastern trail and cut through the green to correct instead of running to trail intersection and cutting back.
2:08 23 - 26
5:15 26 - 28 headed off on a minor bend in trail vs the intersection
3:36 28 - 29
2:51 29 - 27
2:03 27 - 24
6:43 24 - 20 mismatch - clear forest further down spur from where flag was, needed to loop around twice and caught sight of flag further up on spur and in brush
1:41 20 - 19 ran this leg with Mitch, he found me and 20
3:14 19 - 25 Mitch took first turn and went past, I took second and straight to control. (I was going to go the other way no matter which way Mitch went;-)
1:30 25 - 21
0:44 21 - 22
1:22 22 - 17
3:58 17 - 16 - 11
1:01 11 - 10
1:02 10 - 6
2:37 6 - 5
4:05 5 - 7 Meant to go 10 to 5 and then 6, but missed...
0:27 7 - 8
4:27 8 - 2 Became unsure if I had passed the right rootstock, and went back 30 yards to recheck. Ended up being about 10 yards further than when I turned back...
0:50 2 - 3
1:05 3 - 1
2:42 1 - 4 - 9
0:32 9 - Finish
(skipped 12)

Think I could get this 8 minutes faster without the big errors. Happy with my ability to run for 70 minutes and no issues with the arm. Overall good decision making about how to optimize my route - once I had gotten 15 the path seemed evident and 12 was a leg out and back that was easy to skip. With 28 controls it had lots of decision making and I stayed with it throughout. No huge mental errors after the start on 15,

Trail Run warm up/down 20:00 [1]
shoes: Nike Air Terra Humara

Warm down run with Randy and Gil - Randy wanted to have a look at control 26. He was forced to skip it after spending a bunch of time not finding it and wanted to see where it was. Looks like he was close but missed it on the other side of a tree in the light green.
