Sunday Aug 20 #

11 AM

Orienteering race (Hemfosa Middle) 53:19 [4] **** 6.36 km (8:23 / km) +69m 7:57 / km
spiked:5/14c shoes: inov-8 Arctic Talon 275

Very short but very scrappy on the course today. Reached the control circle but messed around in it for minutes at all but a few controls - losing 30 secs at some but up to 4 mins at others. 3rd best time of the group with everyone making some mistakes.

10 AM

Orienteering race (Hemfosa Long) 1:04:28 [4] **** 7.56 km (8:32 / km) +63m 8:11 / km
spiked:7/15c shoes: inov-8 Arctic Talon 275

Very tough running and technical terrain at 1:15k. Taking it slow and accurate to each of the earlier controls but ten speeding up a bit in the later section. Made quite a big mistake on one of the legs by trying to overcomplicate my route and lost some more minutes elsewhere. Not too fast comparatively today

10 AM

Orienteering (Mixed Sprint Relay) 29:45 [4] *** 5.3 km (5:37 / km) +40m 5:25 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

Mixed Sprint Relay in Sickla. In a team with Jura - I ran 5 legs and she ran 4. Messed up my first course by doing a 180degree error and going out to what I thought was #1 but was #4. Should've then just done the course backwards to save time really. Otherwise was fun and fast in the rain

Thursday Aug 17 #

10 AM

Orienteering (Day 9 Training) 1:18:31 [3] **** 7.24 km (10:51 / km) +76m 10:18 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

Long corridor course. Struggled a lot taking a long time through the first through controls, but then when I cut into the inside loop of the course I was much more accurate and fast.
6 PM

Orienteering (OK Ravinen Training) 34:06 [3] *** 4.56 km (7:29 / km) +15m 7:21 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

Ravinen clock relay from the club hut. In a team with Bethany K and we did pretty well on most of the controls really.

10 AM

Orienteering race (Luffarligan) 49:16 [4] **** 7.27 km (6:47 / km) +79m 6:26 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

Feeling good and strong in the earlier section but made a big 6min mistake on one of the legs which the surrounding area should've been mapped as green. Second fastest time today after Joe W.
6 PM

Orienteering race (Melkers Minne Relay) 43:53 [5] ** 7.65 km (5:44 / km) +113m 5:21 / km
shoes: inov-8 Arctic Talon 275

Junior relay competition (M20) with teams of two running two legs each. I was running with Dan as second leg. Dan did well in his legs but Zac from the other Ravinen team was running faster than me on my second leg so we finished 2nd - still a pretty good result.

Leg 1 - 22:08
Leg 2 - 21:20

Tuesday Aug 15 #

10 AM

Orienteering (Day 6 Training) 1:16:21 [4] *** 10.49 km (7:17 / km) +134m 6:50 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

8x3 leg course done in threes everyone setting off in 30 sec intervals (trains). I did with Dan and Zac and was quite accurate on some legs and much less on others - really good session focussing more on speed.
6 PM

Orienteering (OK Ravinen Training) 39:10 [2] *** 6.02 km (6:30 / km) +94m 6:02 / km
shoes: inov-8 Arctic Talon 275

Training with legs all of similar lengths to analyse speed over different types of terrain. David B and I decided to do the whole course complete map memory without taking a map but shadowed by a coach - I made a big mistake on one of my legs thinking I knew what I was doing but went completely the wrong way

Running warm up/down 8:15 [2] 1.38 km (5:59 / km) +23m 5:31 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

Run back to the hut after training with Zac and Julie.

Monday Aug 14 #

10 AM

Orienteering (Day 6 Training) 1:18:06 [4] **** 9.03 km (8:39 / km) +78m 8:17 / km
shoes: inov-8 Mudclaw 300

First part involved a course which everyone did at intervals. Then after a jog it was a race in threes to get to each control which I did with Zac, Dan and Tom Fellbaum and I found it pretty fast and accurate. Jog back to ten finish the course on my own.
