Orienteering race 1:30:16 [4] 15.95 km (5:40 / km) +267m 5:13 / km
ahr:180 max:194 rhr:54 slept:8.0 (injured) shoes: inov-8 X-Talon 225

JK Long - Cold Ash.

The aim was to finish which was definitely accomplished. Hip started to hurt quite badly at #15, and even though I had been okay on cleanliness up to there I did just completely lose it in the final jog back through the last few controls. #1 was the worst mistake of the day but just too much scrappiness and no focus through the final few probably lost me a lot more time.

Happy to have been able to compete and really enjoy a bit of forest. Week of rest for the hip to begin :/

JK Middle - Windmill Hill.

Again more hot. Enjoying chilling around but again not really feeling the pace pushing today - especially in the last section which ended up as basically a jog. Cleanish with a few bits of scrap mixed in but not too bad :)

JK Sprint - Aldershot Barracks.

Hot. Lots of controls. Didn't feel great to be running today but not too terrible on the nav - good chunk of time still lost on hesitation but most lost on not pushing to the max with the pace.

Aquajogging 30:00 [2]
slept:7.75 (injured)

Found the aquajogging belt at Denbigh pool and gave it a go as a bit of a shakeout. A couple of fast sprints for some equivalent strides but I noticed the form was suffering a bit in the pool - might be some time before I’m sorted.

Appointment with Sports Physio to try and get to the bottom of things.

He noticed the big lump on my hip but thinks it’s not important for the injury so gave me radio shockwave treatment to try and break up the tissue. He has recommended only aquajogging to try and attack the recovery so after the JK I’m going to be having some proper time off. No GB fell trials for me this year.

Easy in the morning before doctor’s appointment around the village. Hip painful afterwards.

Didn’t get any kind of cortisone or whatever today. Another GP gave a different diagnosis to the last one so I’m a bit confused as to what position I’m in.

Late at night but still getting some work in on the grass. Hip okay on the flat so not having a lot of problems.

8x400m on some pretty undulating ground.
