Wasdale to Honister

Not the greatest forecast so decided to cut the leg shorter by going up black sail pass and then pick up the line onto Kirkfell. The hail was already starting in the valley but seemed to pass as I picked up the (wrong?) gulley to climb up. This was probably a bit sketchy on my own, I think the proper line is right of the fork.

Found a man at the top of Great Gable and asked him what he thought about when out on his own, and his answer was survival. This turned out to be a good answer because after coming off Great Gable, the hail returned and I got very cold. My hands were too cold to open my drybags so had to use my teeth to open them and get out another layer. Quite a nice grassy descent after that but couldn't get properly warm until back in the car at Keswick.

Thankful to the two men who gave me a lift back to Keswick and offered me a beer.
