Social run with Pippa up Porter and back.

L big toe a big sore flexing after running but fine during.

Running 4:31:47 [3] 27.94 km (9:44 / km) +1680m 7:29 / km

4 Munros, Ben Macdui, Derry Cairngorm, Beinn Mheadoin and Cairn Gorm.

In the clag already from the car park from about 550m but quite easy going on the good path all the way up Ben Macdui. Took a slightly wrong line descending but terrain was all nice so easy to correct. Derry Cairngorm was much more rocky and a line straight over the top was best rather than my suggestion of slightly left... Unexpectedly found some people fixing the path going up Beinn Mheadoin, which is big walk-in from anywhere. Some cool tors on the plateau before quite a technical descent back to the shelter stone and a steep climb up to Cairn Gorm. Was starting to feel a bit tired into the last hour but have done quite a lot in the last few weeks.

Food:

Just before Ben Macdui - Nature Valley Peanut and Chocolate (very dry and hard when cold)
Ben Macdui Top - Orange & Kit Kat (Fiddly to get out of packet)
After Derry Cairngorm - Flapjack (Homemade was better)
Beinn Mheadoin - Orange & Kit Kat
Shelter Stone - Gel 1
Cairn Gorm - Gel 2

Orienteering 58:28 [3] 5.1 km (11:28 / km) +100m 10:26 / km

Inshirach, struggled to get into the map at first and not trusting my compass at all as the map was from 2007. Got better in the second half when a lot more careful.

Orienteering 30:55 [3] 2.8 km (11:03 / km) +40m 10:18 / km

Inshriach, out to have a look at the first part of the course I messed up, and still not much the wiser about the map.

Loch Vaa

Great terrain, quite careful in the vague area and having a good time bashing through all the heather. Nice swim afterwards.

Really enjoyed getting out in these classic areas, hoping to get some more quality orienteering in during October as well.
