Hmm. Really struggling in terrain and on the hills, legs just felt super weak so was a bit of a grind. Head just wasn’t having any of it either so bailed to avoid detraining the techers or further damaging current morale. Not sure wether to blame the biking, two exams or lack of strength so I’ll call it a draw.

On the plus side eyoc is happening so I’ve got a definite aim to work towards but not feeling particularly positive about the current lack of sprint competence, terrain strength and speed so lots to work on and not very long to work on it. Current plan is to aim for 2tech related sessions an week and one interval sesh then top things up with plenty of biking.

Knee is feeling pretty good at the min but just being really cautious not to overdo things hence biking being most of the proposed volume. Looks promising recovery wise with uphill and any sort of ‘torquey’ movement being the main issue (as with October/November 2020 (again showing I still need to be super careful))

As usual Looks like forest tech and bloody mindedness is going to be the main basis of my race plans whichisn’t all bad tbf as despite the physicality at the last couple of vaguely challenging races I did manage to pull together some solids performances. Here’s to challenging courses and grim conditions?... :)

Anyway, still v excited to race internationally and have a good bit of fun out in Sweden whatever happens.

Wud experimenting with a secret new strategy today. not going to say too much but what I will say is that it involves twice as many right shoes as you would normally expect and, here’s the really crucial bit. 1 less left one.

Not BTS as someone obviously though it would be funny to bring pe forward 45mins, anyway short story short I didnt have a whole lot of extra time at 12:30 for the 12:15 start time so got a lift. No harm done tho as it turns out they’re almost as relaxed about start times as your standard sol. Good craic lol
