Early shakeout from my friends place into Central Park. Besides running to and from the park got to run on soft surfaces. New York is awfully hot at 6am.

Today was a struggle. My mind kept coming up with excuses for me to skip out on the workout and do it later. I did my best to let them go and made sure to show up. I started the run and things felt heavy and tired. I told myself to just go with it and put in the effort. The first 6mins tempo went well, but the last 3 mins my mind started to spiral into negative thinking. The last 1 min was really tough and I ended up collapsing in the grass and started crying. Maxie came back to get me and I got up only to fall again. Maxie persuaded me to get up and continue and reminded me of the bigger picture. For the last 2 sets I had to let my ego go and just run. I felt slow and that my mind was against me but I got the job done. I let some of my daily practices fall by the wayside while away and this was just a reminder to make the time and space for them regardless of the situation.
