Running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

45mins in warmup and cooldown before and after time trial. My achilles was a bit sore on the cooldown but it was fine later in the day.

Running race (Time trial) 15:22 [3] 4.0 km (3:51 / km)

I ran the time trial. I ran 15:22 which was okay but not great. The overall effort and focus to get everything out of the tank was lacking. I felt more as if I was at tempo pace for parts of it than racing. The first half felt strong and in control. But for the bottom loop I felt like I dropped and lost focus. I was running with rebekkah but after the turn I let her get away and didnt fight to stay with her. I didn't finish exhausted and felt like I still had something left. I am working on getting it all out. It was the first race in quite sometime so I felt a bit rusty. I need to get over my fear of putting everything out there. I am going to focus on getting everything out for next saturday.

nice shakeout at LPH with everyone. Things were feeling good for the most part. I iced my achilles after at the hangar. I wore the new black new balance shoes and they felt good minimal rubbing on my heel. I was testing them out for time trial tomorrow.

did the time trial loop with Hailee and Nicole. It was nice to get to know them and chat. Everything was feeling pretty good again achilles wasn't 100% but nothing to debilitate my stride.

Did a nice shakeout around campus before orientation everything felt pretty good the achilles was a bit sore but nothing sharp or agonizing.

Wednesday Aug 30, 2017 #

Did the hill surge workout. I felt that things went better this week compared to last week. I just kept focusing on just beat Maxie up. I won 2/3 hills and made sure to push the flats/in betweens as well. I felt like I finished emptying more than I did the previous week but I still am going to explore getting more out and dealing with being uncomfortable. Overall I was pleased with the way the workout went.

Good effort in the pool today. It was odd certain movements with the resistance of the water slightly aggravated my leg but nothing unbearable and after a while things were smooth sailing. My arms were feeling it during the intervals. Ended with some strides with a focus on running tall and getting my heel to my butt.

Also the googles made a huge difference in my confidence and ability to swim.

I decided to cross train instead of run today. I want this achilles thing to leave for good! Got nice and sweaty and walked out with my clothing being a different hue. went to see Jo and she really loosened things up. Tried some KT tape. I have one more appointment before time trial.

nice run today 15 wu then 2 sets of 5x 1min on 1 min off felt like I was moving well. the last two were tough but I could go straight into cooldown.

nice run with maxie for the first half then through centennial. I like running in the light rain, it's nice and refreshing
