Today was a struggle. My mind kept coming up with excuses for me to skip out on the workout and do it later. I did my best to let them go and made sure to show up. I started the run and things felt heavy and tired. I told myself to just go with it and put in the effort. The first 6mins tempo went well, but the last 3 mins my mind started to spiral into negative thinking. The last 1 min was really tough and I ended up collapsing in the grass and started crying. Maxie came back to get me and I got up only to fall again. Maxie persuaded me to get up and continue and reminded me of the bigger picture. For the last 2 sets I had to let my ego go and just run. I felt slow and that my mind was against me but I got the job done. I let some of my daily practices fall by the wayside while away and this was just a reminder to make the time and space for them regardless of the situation.

This was a definite character builder. Ran on a mix of trails and roads. Stopped a few times at water fountains because it was hot and sunny out! Definitely get the fatigue in the end but kept on pushing. A great challenge. I look forward to being back in tbay with the nice air, trails, and training partners.
