Note
(rest day)

When I woke up I could feel in my muscles that I had been doing something out of the ordinary yesterday. I then decided to hit the slopes instead and went alpine skiing for this day. Quite foggy but all the slopes were open so really nice!

X-Country skiing long 1:00:00 [3] 15.0 km (4:00 / km)
ahr:140

Went up to Björnen and skied the 15 km track. The weather was really nice!

The track was really icy and the friction was minimal at best so I had some problems when trying to ski uphill. So most of the time I had to resort to using my tiny arms.

X-Country skiing 58:00 [3] 15.0 km (3:52 / km)
ahr:141

Went back in the afternoon to Björnen and went round the same track. The weather was still very nice and the little friction that could have been found during the morning was now all gone. The sun baked track was now slippery as hell and there was no friction at all. So I used my arms and when the track was a little bit uphill a resorted to skating. I tried to push a little bit harder and actually got a 2 min faster time :)

Really fun going X-Country since it was more than 2 years ago since the last time. But I really need to work on my "valla"-skills to get some better skies. I think "glue" och tape would have been the only wax that could have given any traction today and I had neither :(

Note

(rest day)

After a long day on a snow mobile going around the swedish outback I was really tired. I decided to hit the after ski instead and then some food and more at Bygget.

Running hills 1:28:00 intensity: (42:00 @2) + (46:00 @3) 10.8 km (8:09 / km) +740m 6:04 / km
ahr:134 shoes: Puma Complete Trailfox II

Ran up the Åreskutan, well not quite to the top but atleast 700+ m. Almost reached 1100 meters so there were still some 300 m to go. The snow was quite slippery and not that hard so just running flat was quite tiresome. I had Jonas Roth with me so I waited a bit for him also. 1h then we had to turn back down partly because of fading daylight but also a dinner reservation that we didn't want to miss.

The setting sun was a fantastic setting for our first post conference day in Åre. :)

Running warm up/down 35:15 [3] 6.2 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Asics GEL Magic Racer IV

To and from test course in Hjulsbro

Running race 22:00 [5] 6.3 km (3:30 / km)

Test race in Hjulsbro
Felt really awful on the warm up and decided to go easy in the beginning and let the pulse decide my pace. During the first quarter of the race my pulse was going totally bananas and I registered an all time high of 187(!). I'm not sure if that is correct or not, but It might have something to do with me feeling really strange. (May be an adrenaline rush?!?) After the first quarter everything settled down and I could maintain a steady pulse just above my LT, 167-174. On the second lap I tried to up the pulse somewhat knowing that one has to crank it up to maintain speed and it seemed to work! I have never had two lap with such a small time difference (less than one second). I had to push hard in the last uphill section of the lap but it felt quite good afterwards. I think I could have pushed overall a little bit harder on the last lap and gotten a better time.

Before start I was very worried that Dryml would beat me in a sprint towards the finish, but I passed him already on the first lap and he never got close to any sprint finish so that felt good, but on the other hand I think my time would have been a little bit better if he could have been there right behind me on the second lap.

Note
(rest day)

Felt a bit tired from sleeping badly the last nights so I took the day off from training and instead started packing for my trip to Åre.
