Running trail/forest long 58:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Asics GEL DS Trainer 12

Ran down on the old military fields and forests and down to Vidingsjö. Took one of the loops of the mtb track and then back home again. Try to stay in the shade of the trees. Had limited time to do a proper long distance run.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon

Orienteering tempo 59:30 [4] *** 9.0 km (6:37 / km)
ahr:170 max:185 spiked:23/25c shoes: Inov8 X-Talon

Jukola training. Beautiful terrain north of town. Physically quite tough with only soft ground and a lot of undergrowth which keeps the pace down. Gaffled mass start together with the best runners from OK Denseln and a few runners from TGOK and Lithe Vilse.

I got off a bit late but was 2nd to the first control anyway after the others made a 5" mistake. After that we were a group consisting of Kleist, Weltmeister, Hansi and me. We were together the first half of the first loop. After that I took another route on the longer leg and I was actually about 20-30" before weltmeister in the control area, but messed up and went out on the 2nd loop together with the weltmeister. I didn't try to push all the way and instead tried to get my orienteering together which worked almost perfect for the whole race. I lost some time to Erik on the 3rd loop and finished fift just behind a very tired Burk. I felt very relaxed during the whole training and didn't push myself in the forest.

The strange thing is the pulse curve. I averaged 170! My threshold is 165 and I maxed 185. With those numbers should have gotten tired very quickly. I don't know what to make out of this....

Blodomloppet
Rank: 19/958, +5'16"
This year the race course was actually 10k so that was good news. To bad I just got out of sick bed. I had decided not to go all in but instead tried to get a nice session with a little bit of speed to see how the body reacted. I ran fast the first k (3'10") to keep up with the leading group but after that start I slowed down to a comfortable speed. My brother was cheering on from the 6k mark to the 9k mark so I got some pace indication there and the pace seemed solid (around 3'45"). It feels quite ok even though I have been out of training for 2 weeks. I still have time for some training sessions before Jukola :)

Running 30:00 [1] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 13

Went out on my sprint map with paper and pen and did some reconnaissance. It seems I didn't get any worse so hopefully I this day ended my period of sickness. (Finally!)

So tomorrow I will run the Blodomloppet race. I don't have any high expectations. I think it will just be loads of fun getting out and meeting people again =)
