Note

Always been an Adidas person and always will be. BUT, with my contract up on Wednesday I thought I'd actually purchase some shoes and go in a different direction. Yes, I splurged, but oh my word these things are incredible. Not sure how long they'll last. However, they are the fastest things I've ever put on my feet.
5 AM

Running 30:29 [3] 6.62 km (4:36 / km)
ahr:135 max:147

Easy early shakeout round West U. Saw a Screech Owl catch something on Belmont.
8 PM

Running 1:07:59 [3] 15.34 km (4:26 / km) +14m 4:25 / km
ahr:151 max:168

New shoes so time for a two a day day. Intervals. 2x15mins, 4x1k. Really enjoyed this which never, ever happens with intervals.

(rest day)

Did I need this......probably not. But it was planned and I'd decided not to play catch up this week from last weeks debacle. Dermatologist told me I've got to cover the bottom lip more. Probably gets too much sun from sulking after bad runs!

Running 1:42:01 [3] 19.36 km (5:16 / km) +7m 5:16 / km
ahr:136 max:162

LSD. West U, Rice, Hermann Park. Plan was to go over an hour. I was supposed to do two hours. But I somehow managed to comfortably do 9 miles at Zone 2 and 3 miles at Zone 3. Thank goodness for the wind. It was toasty out today. The only reason my HR got anywhere near 162 was cos I wanted to beat a red light.

Running 47:30 [3] 9.82 km (4:50 / km) +7m 4:49 / km
ahr:138 max:149

Slow, but a positive experience. Around Rice. Not too hot, but very close.

(rest day)

Zero motivation. By the time Eadie's project was done (ridiculous for a 9 year old, cannot wait to see what the rest of West U's parents have produced) the day was over. At least for me.

9 AM

Running 33:43 [3] 6.5 km (5:11 / km)
ahr:126 max:143

The struggle is real. Who'd have thought missing a week would lead to feeling like I was pulling a high-rise around Rice. Not feeling it at all.

Total right off this week. Kendal sent home ill this morning so just got household paperwork caught up on. Still maybe I can salvage the weekend.
