Note

Just looked at some of the data from today. Didn't realise we ran at 8000ft. There were periods I was at 180bpm+. That'll explain 100m (10min) plus mistakes.

Orienteering 1:43:34 [3] 13.05 km (7:56 / km) +275m 7:11 / km
ahr:161 max:186

Orienteering Training at Pelican East WY.
Started good. Got to 5 in a group of Mikell and Tyler. Overran it by 15m and the others were gone. 1min mistake. (Ribbons not kites for markers).
7 was a disaster 50m to the right. 7mins?? lost.
9 thru 20 were fantastic. Hit them all bang on. Had good flow and barely walked. Caught Tyler at 20.
Then in typical fashion as soon as I'm head to head racing I lost concentration and overran 21 by 100m. Relocated and found it. 5mins (I remember having a rough time on this control last year from a different approach.)
Blew 22 as well 10mins.
From then on cruised around no problem.
Terrible errors but loads of positives. Really enjoyed this. Still amazed at the HR. But this time I was working at a hard effort. But going into 170bpm+ for long periods is nuts. I thought coming down 2000ft might help. need to read up and see if/when my HR will subside with exercise. Resting HR is up slightly at 43bpm.

Easy from Society Turn down Galloping Goose and back. HR is still obscenely high for the effort put in.

Threshold. 3x2miles w/ 2mins rest. From Carhenge, valley floor back along hike and bike continuous loop. This route was perfect for this session. Still very easy to get my HR up. But not surprising. First 2 miles stomach was in bits. But eventually settled down. First bit of speedwork for a while.
Splits 14:39, 14:40, 15:23. Last one had no downhill in it, but still surprised how slow I was.

Running 37:04 [3] 4.86 km (7:38 / km) +157m 6:34 / km
ahr:146 max:171

Went for an evening run to see how much damage yesterday had wrought. Stomach felt very tender. Like it was bruised. Lost 8lbs in 24 hours (which I need to do but not in this manner). Things still aren't right.
Generally a great day. Bairns first day of being Miners. Neighbours seemed genuinely nice. (I was a tad worried). And found a great little trail below our street. Keystone Gorge.

Woke up feeling like death. Slept all day. Still not right.

Note
(rest day)

I was going to run. But during the time allotted Kendal hurt her hip skateboarding so that was nixed. Maybe a good thing though. (For me not her.)

Running 14:06 [3] 2.38 km (5:56 / km) +15m 5:45 / km
ahr:151 max:166

Jogged to Maddie and Lewy's for a lift with a belly full of tacos and beer. Very tired and sore toes after finishing up the walk. Might need a rest tomorrow ....yikes.
