Another great day...as everyday is. But today was special. England won by a wicket. First time since 1923. (I didn't look in Wisden to find that out). Then the Mags battered Spurs 1-0 (with only 20% possession).
And.....I had a clean run (well maybe 4mins lost, running off bearing)
Orienteering Training Superfly Marsh. Plan today was slow and steady. No racing, no mistakes. Tyler and Graeme blasted off straightaway and I just thought don't get involved. Today's not a workout. It's about the technical stuff. By the 2nd control I'd lost both. All the way round I just plodded around and hit everything bag on. At 9 to 10 Graeme reeled me in. But I never put the foot down I let him go. This was also my first bobble. The marsh crossing concerned me and my compass bearing was pap. But Graeme put 2mins on me. Usually I'd have pushed to catch, But then tomorrow would have become a rest day. On 13 my bearing was again 100m off. (With zero vegetation so not terrible.) Tyler caught me at 14, but again I let him go. I feel very happy with everything. HR wasn't lower for the effort put in, but a little research shows 3-6 weeks to acclimatize and I've only been here 2 weeks.
Today was a good day.
