Sunday Nov 10 #

Note

Madness on way back tonight. Flight aborted on takeoff out of Denver. Then a passenger looked like he had a heart attack on disembarking as we returned to the gate. Medics worked on him and carted him off. Never a dull moment in Denver.
8 AM

Running 36:19 [3] 6.77 km (5:22 / km) +6m 5:21 / km
ahr:154 max:173

Very easy on East River. Sore all over. Knees are aching.

Apart from 2, 3, 7 and a horrendous 15 not bad. 15 was close to 15 mins on a parallel ridge. Interesting looking at Niels’s splits. Our middle splits we’re almost identical. But as usual I had a massive mistake. The others weren’t too clever either. Great place to run. Well worth the travel out. Always interesting getting Niels’s perspective on things. Met Greg for the first time. Nice lad. Got to follow up on some of his leads for training.

Travel day.

Running 27:21 [3] 4.23 km (6:28 / km) +142m 5:32 / km
ahr:151 max:165

Up early. Easy up and down Nimbus a couple of times. Unbelievably dark. Ran off the road twice and saw two meteors.

Note
(rest day)

Yesterday I was all about running. Today......not so much. Tired, worked on the house.

11 AM

Running 1:00:01 [3] 12.55 km (4:47 / km) +121m 4:34 / km
ahr:160 max:182

Progress! Or at least it felt like it. 3x15mins at Threshold. Did this on The Uncompaghre River Trail to Ridgeway SP which is just shy of 7000'. I felt great. On the flats I was easily running under 7min/mile. HR was high even though the effort wasn't anywhere near maximum.
3 PM

Running 39:26 [3] 6.8 km (5:48 / km) +30m 5:40 / km
ahr:165 max:195

HR through the roof as usual. Very Easy on Valley Floor. Decided to front load the week for Saturday's race.

3 PM

Running 36:56 [3] 6.47 km (5:42 / km) +33m 5:34 / km
ahr:157 max:175

Very, very easy on the Valley Floor. Watch says I've been overtraining. Hit over 50 miles, probably for the first time in 8 years. Felt knackered today, but this run has picked me until a little. Very mild here at the moment.
