Amaze balls! This run was an eye opener (pardon the pun). Last year I bought a pair of Cats Eyes in Latvia. I'd been too vain to wear them since I purchased them at the stall. After the run earlier in the week with a map, I realised I can't go on like this. So I started an Easy effort on the road in Illium with the Culteuchar and Dron map from The 6 Days. It felt like running in new shoes. The ease in picking detail was unbelievable. Now to try them on trails to negotiate tree roots etc.

Planned, but further bothered my left knee working with some girls this morning.
I've had my monthly political vent. Thank goodness for Greg. The voice of reason.

Running 1:00:26 [3] 12.32 km (4:54 / km) +70m 4:46 / km
ahr:163 max:184

2x2 miles Threshold w/ 10mins Zone 2. Felt terrible. Piled into a WC 2mins from the end. Seems a very regular thing at the moment. Ran with Long Course from Latvia last year. Found a way better route choice from 6-7. Defo need glasses. Couldn't pick out any detail on 1:10,000. Done on Valley Floor trails and railway line.

On a side note, I choked on my granola this morning while indulging myself on the Orienteering Tourism thread. Lovely that Phd Virologist SteveO educated us all this morning, on the Florida "Success" story. Knowing there's been rumours of under reported Covid cases by the CDC in the state, I thought I'd root out this source of "Success"......no less than the world renown journalist Tucker "Verbal Diarrhea" Carlson. I asked Kendal to slap my back as I gagged. UK v USA....the race to the bottom continues.

Running 43:14 [3] 8.1 km (5:20 / km) +55m 5:10 / km

Very Easy down San Miguel. Followed some very novice SUPers. I stopped to watch them negotiate a burst beaver dam on the river. (About a metre drop.) Very humorous, but they did well. The river is swollen so the these people are moving rapidly.

Running 52:54 [3] 10.48 km (5:03 / km) +150m 4:43 / km
ahr:158 max:174

Up and at it early (for me). Substituted intervals for another crack at the Illium to Society segment. Knocked a minute and twenty off. Felt pretty good. Weather is incredible. 3C when I set out, but felt fresh not cold. Much happier after this.
